Casco Bay Acupuncture & Massage operates as a home office. The clinic is conveniently located near Mill Creek Shopping Center in South Portland, Maine. Office hours are by appointment. For details and to schedule an appointment call Tennyson Towl L.Ac., LMT at 207-321-9070. For your convenience you can also book an appointment using the online scheduling service. (Click here to book online.)
I recommend that you wear loose fitting clothing or bring some with you to change into for the treatment so that you will be comfortable and acupuncture points will be accessible. Please be sure to have something in your stomach and adequate hydration prior to your appointment.
I kindly ask that you respect your appointment time and avoid being late. If you are late, the time remaining in your appointment may not be enough for a full treatment. I too make every effort to stay on schedule. If, on occasion, I am running behind with the patient before you it will not effect the time of your treatment. I expect and appreciate the courtesy of a 24 hour notice of cancellation of any appointment. Please be advised that you are responsible for payment of a cancellation made without 24 hours notice. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps the clinic run more smoothly for everyone.
Fees, Payment & Insurance Billing
For acupuncture, the fee for your initial visit (full Chinese medicine evaluation and first treatment ) is $125 and will take an hour and a half. Follow up acupuncture treatments are $85 and take approximately an hour.
For therapeutic massage, the fee is $85 for 1-hour or $125 for 1 ½ hours.
For a Thai Massage the fee is $125 and the session lasts 1 1/2 hours.
For a Food as Medicine counseling session the fee is $85 for 1-hour.
For general consultation for self care (eating habits, exercise, life style, sleep habits, meditation etc.) the fee is $40 for 30 minutes.
Payment can be made in the form of cash, check or credit. Upon request, I am happy to provide you with a receipt at the time of service which can also be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you would like to have insurance cover all or a portion of your treatment I recommend that you contact your insurance provider to learn the covered benefits of your policy with respect to Traditional Chinese Medicine including Acupuncture and Therapeutic Massage.
I am able to work with a wide variety of insurance providers in one of two ways. One option is I can provide you with a “superbill” upon request. A super bill is simply an invoice for your treatment that includes all the necessary information needed to file for reimbursement. This process requires you to pay for the treatment at the time of the visit. The superbill can thereafter be submitted by you to your insurance carrier for reimbursement depending on your policy. Or depending on your insurance company and particular plan I can file for you. We can discuss what works best at your first appointment.
If you would like to make use of this service I recommend that you check with your insurance carriers prior to your appointment with me to be sure that superbills are accepted. For your convenience I have created a simple 8 question guide to verifying your benefits when you call your insurance company. Click on the Forms page and then on the Guide to Verification of Benefits.
The gift of self care can be a fantastic way to show appreciation to a loved one, friend or colleague. A massage or introduction to acupuncture session makes a wonderful gift.
